Simerson Construction uses Building Information Modeling tools (BIM) to produce 3D and 2D construction models that gives the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) professionals as well as the owner the insight and tools to more efficiently conceptualize, plan, design, construct, and manage buildings and infrastructure. Each element drawn in a BIM model is enhanced not only with additional dimensional and spatial information, but with specific details about its material, manufacture and finish. This information can assist in estimating, scheduling and identifying areas of concern and conflict before the building process begins.

Construction Management at Risk (CMAR)

The CMAR approach benefits our clients through the utilization of Simerson’s extensive professional services and allows us to consultant the owner in the design development and construction phases. This method is particularly beneficial to public works agencies and other clients as they benefit from receiving critical feedback on costs, constructability, materials selection, quality and schedule from the construction manager during the preconstruction process.
During this process Simerson Construction works diligently to deliver a quality, on budget project to the client. Further, we work hard to foster meaningful relationships with our clients. From start to finish, CMAR method is beneficial for controlling overall costs and keeping a design within budget.

Design-assist engages the construction team in the design process, based on the premise that it benefits the overall project. It is intended to improve cost, timing, constructability, quality and value, which can help shorten the overall construction schedule. This method promotes efficiency with early design and construction collaboration, while giving project owners hands-on supervision of architects, engineers and other planning consultants. In design-assist project delivery, the architect and engineers are under direct contract to the owner while key subcontractors—typically mechanical, electrical, plumbing and landscaping—are under contract for design and construction to the general contractor.
With systems subcontractors representing the majority of a project’s cost, these subs can give the owner various pricing alternatives creating greater flexibility in options and value for the owner. This is particularly beneficial for owners wishing to explore costs associated with project upgrades such as green energy and upgraded finishes. Project owners can evaluate and commit to construction options and upgrades throughout the building process as needed.
